Tacoma D-55 Trus Rod Adjustment

My Tacoma build 2005 D-55 is buzzing a bit and I have room to adjust the truss rod.
My question it this.
Is the truss rod a dual action?
To put a bit of bow in the neck, do I turn the nut counter-clockwise?

I have turned the nut 1/2 turn counter-clockwise and got very little relief.
I won't do anything else until someone with knowledge chimes in and helps me with this.

Update.
The guitar has set for about 1 hour and there seems to be a little less buzzing now.
There is about .010" of gap now when I place a capo on the first fret and press down on the 14th fret.
The gap is measured at the 7th fret.

Humidity inside the case has been about 42% for several weeks.
