Hello again to ya'all. I've been lurking in the background for a while now with nothing to sell and found nothing to buy but now it's time for some help with an old project that I found time to tackle. I have a 2 piece Superbird Amp that doesn't have a working Reverb. Reverb tube lights up but no Reverb. If the amp is on and the foot switch is pressed I can hit the side of the head and the reverb can works(loud noise out of the speaker) Any ideas before I dig in??
Thanks in advance for the help as always

drc, thanks for the question, made me realize some changes needed to be made. I need to put all the pointy headed monsters together for a photo shoot. I'll work on that., and then the Aristocrat/M-75 batch also.

First thing is to test the cables, because that's the most likely cause. power supply schematic is here, and preamp reverb section is here.

If the reverb crashes when you hit the amp, then we know the recovery circuit works. The section in yellow is the driver section of the reverb. Guild used the 6GW8 tube to drive the reverb pan. There isn't a substitute, but they are available and reasonable. It was a popular tube in table radios. I'd pick up a spare, just in case. I would check the cables first, then I would tap on the 6GW8 with the eraser end of a pencil. If you get a thump through the reverb, then you know the problem is upstream of the tube.

Thanks for the info. I bought some extra 6GW8 tubes so I had some available. Tubes did not help. Tapping on the tube also has no effect. Just curious which cables are you referring to?
