if you look at the Gretsch website, the word even has "TM" next to it everywhere.

The strange thing is that no Trademark search engine actually gives a result for it, so I have a feeling there is no enforceable trademark anymore for DynaSonic even if Gretsch seems to indicate that. Neither FMIC nor Gretsch seem to have it registered anymore. And manufacturers like SD or Fralin use the word also without a hint to an existing trademark.
It would have been a matter of a bit of respect towards Gretsch to not use the name however.
