Strap Button removal

Hey guys,

I am going to put straplocks on my Starfire. The button at the horn is screwed in, so thats easy to remove. The other one is a bone button. I assume this is glued in? Any suggestions on how to remove it?

Probably not glued but held in by friction, that's been my experience, although that has been with acoustic instrumetns.

Which generation - not that it changes my answer? 60's, 70's, 90's or one of the Newark Street variations?

There might be glue. A lot of folks have done that over the years. Friction is probably how it shipped from Guild though.

Just grap it with a pair of Channel Locks and yank that sucker out!

It’s cuz In post #7 on that thread you can see I thought he had a neck heel button.

Or lightly twist and see if you can get some movement? It should come out. And if not and you grab and go... drilling it out will be the least of your problems. But yeah.... grab and go!!
