Thanks, everybody. Your kind words help.

Folks in other forums(fora?) commented on my calm, as well. I wasn't feeling particularly calm Tuesday afternoon & night, & didn't sleep well, but I knew once the cops, locksmith, & insurance folks were out of the way, all I could do was post notice on the 'net & wait. Now I even have reason for some optimism!

Hope you get all your stuff back Mando. Dunno if you've looked into renter's insurance, but I currently have a policy that covers $20k contents for about $150/yr. I got mine through The Hartford via AARP.

Elrod,
it sucks that someone stole your mandolins and your truck but its great to hear that 1 mandolin is back at home and the other one is in processing (hope it comes out soon.)
Its great that guitar center actually took down their info (although its probably pretty suspicious when crackheads come in with a couple mandolins)
(not to be pessemistic, but) Its also nice to know that your local law enforcement actually cares about the crime that goes on (as opposed to here where they're like "Oh well. we cant help you unless someone got shot.")
also have you gotten your truck back yet?

The Detective said it's in a parking lot somewhere, they don't know which or where.
No news on anything else yet.
