Hi Im new to this forum and found it while searcing for a second Guild.
I have an old Guild CE100D and while its away for a fretwork I was thinking about finding a second old guild.
As I was looking at old SF 4s I found out about the difference in where the neck joins the body.

As for the question. Is there more differences other than the neck joint,?
quality, sound etc.
Should I try to find a pre or post 67 model or doesn't it matter.
Trying to find out how much I would miss the 2 frets and if there are other qualitys that makes it worth it going for the earlier one

If you'll miss the easier access to the higher frets depends on your style of playing. It is a double cutaway after all, so full access is easier that a single cut or no cut, even on pre-67s.
i have a '65 and don't find anything lacking. (In fact, it takes a little getting used to when I play my S-90, because it has so MUCH access. I can easily find myself too high up if I'm not careful.)

I can't speak to any other differences between pre- and post- 67s, since I haven't played any posts except for the much later 80s-90s SF IVs which are a huge difference from the earlier ones.

Im happy with my '65.

I'm glad to know it not just me. After playing the the X150 or Starfire II for a while and then grabbing the Starfire IV I will sometimes end up a few frets too high up on the neck. :fat:
