On today's playlist. I like the way SD-1 pickups sound with mahogany - a little smoother, but still clear and no muddiness.

The kind of guitar I'd like to come across near where I live. Not sure I'd really want a vibrato though (I'm not quick enough at retuning)...How good are the ones on such guitars (I only know the Stratocaster's kind). Enjoy your day !

The guitar stays in tune quite well. I've not had any problems with it. You can always look for the Starfire II which is exactly the same but with a rosewood bridge/saddle and Guild harp tailpiece.

Thanks for the infos (I didn't know about the bridge and hadn't noticed that Guild harp tailpiece) and I wasn't too sure about what was different. But one or the other, they never show up in my area

Bernie, here's my '97 Starfire III, with the Guildsby having been swapped out for a harp tailpiece. Like GG, the sound of the SD-1 pickups work well for me. Apologies for all the reflections!

No worry, nice photo, handsome guitar ; yes then if one comes along at a fair price (in my surroundings or so), II or III I'd jump on it as I could always change the Guildsby like you've done (BTW I'm in France if someone has one)...Thanks
