After a very disappointing venture with the Starfire IV, I saw this guitar and thought why not? It had a look of its own and I enjoy the p90s. The white I thought was a statement color. Now for a relatively inexpensive guitar this one had potential.

I am not disappointed in this one. A little rub around the F holes and a beefier spring and this is a contender. Nicely produced, smooth to play and it chimes as it should. Teeje-0

I have two of them because I stumbled on a prototype and couldn’t say no even though I already had a production model.

I think they’re a very cool concept and I love that Guild tried something different. It makes me happy to see people digging them.

The more I play it the more I like it. Lots of stares and then they hear and it sticks.

Does yours have a baseball bat neck on it? Played a satin black one at the local store and it had the fattest neck I have played in years.

I am considering a bit on a second hand. but the guy who offers it says he had to give it a fret job and other machine heads when it was quite new from the shop. So I wonder what happened there. Most times, when people think they have to change the machine heads, the tuning problem is not in the machine heads but in the nut and/or the bridge.
Cost only € 400 with case. Other possibility: A 350 Stratford with the same three Franz P90 pickups, but that one does € 800 with case.

Welcome. I can't speak specifically to this guitar but the world is full of people who buy something new and then immediately customize it to their liking. It may be that the specific instrument had some issues that were corrected but the changes may have only been necessary to make the owner happy. If you focus on the "as-is" condition that might be more helpful than wondering how or why it came to be that way.

Some people change tuners for cosmetic reasons and some change them because they prefer a different gear ratio so there might not be an issue with the nut.
