Hey,
any old country fans here?
Would love to get a good compilation of Sons of The Pioneers earlier material, but with a 70 year career and a million line-ups there's hundreds of recordings of the same songs from different periods on different labels and the CDs often don't tell you anything about the recordings.
Can anyone recommend a good collection?
Somewhat relatedly, I can wholeheartedly recommend this great collection of early Merle Travis material, complete with harmony singing and mandolins. It looks like a lot to get through but really it's a breeze:
