I enjoyed watching this. Thanks for posting! I've been a fan of Sonny Landreth for many years. But I have mostly heard his electric slide playing. I saw him with John Hiatt and the Goners back in the late 80's.

It was interesting to hear how he discovered the technique of fretting behind the slide. I enjoyed this quote... "Once I became friends with guitar players like Robbin Ford and Eric Johnson, I decided I would concentrate on the slide guitar". Seems like a personable fellow.

I am most jealous. ;)

I have seen him a couple of time in various settings. He has a very gracious, very modest stage presence as the headliner - old-school Southern Gentleman style - very generous with sharing time with people who sit-in and with junior band members. He seems to be very nice guy, but I suspect that he has metaphorical musical switchblade in his back pocket that could/would be used in the most gentlemanly of fashion on showboaters and grandstanders.

I respect him and like him but he's not really my cup of tea for listening to.

Saw a great show at in New Orleans in 2015 with Tab Benoit, Sonny and Samantha Fish at a Bowling alley.
