I don't think it's the same guitar, Steffan. The F-312 in the auction pix had a Chesterfield. The guitar in the Smothers video has none. I think it more likely that this is the same F-212 seen in the 1965-66 "Rainbow Quest" video with Pete Seeger.

The guitar in the auction had at least 4 cracks below the bridge, bridge lift, anmd a cracked through bridge. It brought more than $1200. Not a guitar project that I wouid want to undertake.

Indeed. I remember showing that very guitar to my luthier, and asking what he thought. He just cringed.

Ok, so here is Judy with the F312 then...chesterfield and all....my question is .. does this guitar have the solid black pickguard...looks like it to me....my F312 is needing a pickguard... black would suit me fine... :D although it would never look as good on me as it does on Judy blue eyes... Steffan

Interesting.
For over a year now I was thinking the answer was Joni Mitchell, or maybe even Bonnie Raitt. 8)

Just goes to show,

Yes, black pick guard on a 1968 Hoboken guitar. Here's the auction image:

The guitar is a lot more beat up than what the image shows.

Does this post really go back to November of last year, and what was the question again?
Yes, but it was quoted somewhere else in a more recent post. Since I never saw it before its all new to me. Judy Collins was an innocent young thing back then.

Its a good thing that Bonnie (the Guild F50r expert) is not reading any of this right now. Sorry Bonnie, we all really do have the love regardless.

Craig

Hello Craig & Steffan,

Actually, the guitar has a tortoise shell style pickguard. It's a rather dark one, but here's what it looks like when you're closer up:
