The scene is an Indian reservation out west near the atomic proving grounds in the late '40s. Two indians tribes are engaged in a fierce territorial dispute and the chiefs are communicating with each other across a valley, using the traditional smoke signal method. Within seconds after one of them lets fly his blanket and the accompanying puffs of smoke, a fantastic rumbling boom sounds in the distance and is followed by a slowly rising mushroom cloud. The old chief stares in dismay, shaking his head, and after a moment says: "Damn. I wish I'd said that."
