Not sure how they get that elevation. Earth radius is a bit less than 4,000 miles, or 2.1 x 10^7 ft. And that radius is measured from the top of the mountain farthest from the Earth's center, (which, due to the equatorial bulge, isn't Everest but is Mount Chimborazo in the Andes).
