Hey Guys,

So I have started a blog about the '60s --> www.60sblog.com

If you go to the link and click on 'Stories' in the menubar, I have made a section where people can share cool stories from the '60s that pertain to music/culture/etc.

If you have any cool stories that you'd like to contribute, send me a PM.

Thanks!

But if we Really ENJOYED a concert in the 1960's can we Remember it?
Lothar And The Hand People, The Youngbloods, Van Morrison(separately, not all at once), all at the Electric Factory in Philly.

(that looks better)

Saw Dave Van Ronk, PP&M, and Odetta in a small Boulder, CO venue called "The Buff Room" back around '65/'66. Also took in Pete Seeger, The Association, The Turtles, Lovin' Spoonful, Righteous Brothers, and The Astronauts while in Boulder going to college. Saw The Beach Boys and Ray Peterson in Indianapolis during the early 60's.

All were great!

Let's see, with varying degrees of coolness, Judy Collins, Odetta, Gerry Mulligan, Simon & Garfunkel, PP&M, Poco, the Dead, (opened for) Oscar Brand in Nova Scotia, Ten Years After, Butterfield Blues Band, James Cotton and BB King (last three same show), Neil Young (with guest Steven Stills, spring before Woodstock). These might be early 70s: Kenny Burrell, George Barnes/Bucky Pizzarelli, Chick Corea. Probably missing some.

Oh, yeah, forgot about the Byrds with Clarence White with Bo Diddley opening and Clarence playing with him. Can't remember if it was '69 or '70, but great show.

Guess it's the thread that separates geezers from the boys..... wasn't old enough to attend in the 60's.
So my geezerdom has been revoked... I'll try again next year! ;)

Kenny Rogers and the First Edition before Kenny went country and solo; Gary Pucket and the Union Gap twice.

ok, then I'll post the first concert I never got to see due to parental concerns about damage to my sobriety (little did my parents know my sobriety was already irreparably damaged):
Black Sabbath headlining over some unknown by the name of Yes.
Actually though I think that was late 1970.
"Paranoid" was all over the radio, "Fragile" was some months down the road yet.

Nah, didn't see my first concert until probably 1970... Only cost $2.00 to see The Guess Who (after Randy Bachman left, so it was Domenic and the other guy on guitars- but one of them played a Starfire IV!!!).

Well, this was actually 1975, but it was a bunch of '60's musicians. I saw the Rolling Thunder Review in Rochester, NY. During Dylan's set some guy in one of the front rows would shout, "Play All Along The Watch Tower" between every song. At one point Dylan looked down at his guitar and played the first two or three chords of the song. Just when it seemed the audience was about to go crazy, he stopped and said, "Next time."
It was almost a climax ...
