I was in the front row for a concert of Ringo & His All-Starr Band last night and had a really good time. It's very hard to accept that Ringo is 82. I don't know if I'll make it that far, but you'd never guess it at the show.

Anyway, there were many highlights for me, but being about 3 feet away from Edgar Winter for the show was amazing. Plus, Steve Lukather (of Toto fame) was just fantastic. Really they all were, and it was a night of diverse music where they all covered each other's songs. Great stuff. Ringo still sounds like Ringo. :). His drumming is still second to none! However, I will say that with Gregg Bissonette kitted up next to him, that was one monster rhythm section!

My previously-mentioned objections to going to concerts in large venues notwithstanding, I really had a great time. I'd do it again. Have to avoid the tinnitus after the show though. :)

I didn't spot any Guilds. But there were a lot of fine instruments on that stage. Colin Hay (of Men at Work fame) played an archtop for most of the concert that looked like a Starfire with a Guildsby, but I think he just likes Bigsbys and I think that main axe of his was a custom. He had a Bigsby on a Les Paul too that he was using.

Lukather is a monster player! His solo for The Tubes "Talk to Ya Later" is one of my favorite guitar solos (he was only 23 y.o. when he recorded it!).

He plays Collings guitars.
Looking at some videos from last night he played the red "SoCo LC" or "SoCo 16 LC" (might be the 16):

Plus the blonde "I-35 LC Vintage" one:

He also has a smaller single cutaway burst one, the "SoCo LC Deluxe":

And a green Collings "Statesman LC Deluxe":

That is exactly right, Ralf... Thanks for the research! I couldn't read the headstock from the other side of the stage, but yes... Collings it is. It was the orange/red maple one that was prominent for the show.
