I was all set to post the following picture of my '71 JSII's control cavity in this thread with a snarky comment because the bass and guitar wiring looked so much alike. Then I noticed that the shape of the control cavity was different.

Since Guild often used similar tooling on corresponding guitars and basses which is more likely?

The cavity shape for basses never matched the one for guitars

OR

The cavity shape for guitars and basses changed between '71 and '73

OR

None of the above?

Early s-100s match your bass's cavity shape. It was changed to the rounder cavity around 72 or 73.
