Made it to Stratford on Avon at last - and a Royal Shakespeare Company theatre - although the production was by 'Shakespeare Live', not the RSC! Our production of 'Shakespeare on Love', with extracts from several plays. 2 performances at 12 noon and 2 pm, on Saturday August 18th.

Firsty the guitar content - playing the cast onto the stage with 'Greensleeves' - used the old Epiphone as my son didn't take it to China.

Giving a wooden performance as 'The Forest of Arden' and about to transform into Touchstone from 'As you like it'.

Prospero - giving his daughter to Ferdinand, from 'The Tempest'.

Making an a$$ of myself as Bottom, with Titania, from 'A midsummer night's dream'.

Lastly having a good rant as Capulet, Juliet's horrible father, in Romeo & Juliet.

Someone said 'break a leg' - and sadly, 2 days later, I did - ruptured my quadriceps tendons which have been surgically reattached last Wednesday. So the only cast I am in at the moment is a whole leg one :(

Thank you and hope the leg heals soon.

I saw a performance at Blackfriars Playhouse of A Winter's Tale. As you might expect there was an effort to give an authentic or "period correct" performance. That included cast members performing music for the audience between acts and a coupe of other times.

I embarrassed Mrs. Fro. because I started laughing at the first notes they played. She did not recognize Soft Cell's Tainted Love which I thought was a particularly amusing selection to accompany the Tale.

Jerry, Jerry, Jerry, why must you be so literal? Don't you recall the time you lost a cap chewing the scenery?

Great photos! I like how the guy behind the stage for "Midsummer's Night's Dream" is taking you so seriously even though you have an a$$ head!!

Jerry, why did they have you carrying a sack of spuds ?

I'll offer no comment on your failed audition for the part of Hymen !!

All the best for the recovery.

Just as well - but as Prospero I labored the point somewhat...
"But if thou doest break her virgin knot, before all sanctimoneous ceremonies with full and holy rite are ministered,
no sweet aspersions shall the heavens let fall to make this contract grow, but barren hate,
sour eyed distain and discord shal bestrew your bed of union with weeds so loathley, that you shall hate it both.
Therefore thake heed, as Hymens lamps shall light you"
(I guess in your case Gary, I should have said 'As Hymen's lambs shall light you' )

Thanks Gary - next week I'm hoping to get an external splint allowing some knee flexion, one of those things that look like a Star wars stormtrooper's body armor - at the moment I have to sit on the car's back seat with my straight cast

Wish I could Jim - can't even drive at the moment :( Each year in October I miss y'all too :(

Next Saturday Sept 22nd I'm doing 2 half hour sessions at the Sutton Benger Beer Festival - the guy organizing it is having to come and fetch me. At least I can stand and stump around a bit. I'll be playing the D35 - but taking the Epiphone in case I break a string while performing
