Richard's D48 arrived in Dickson, TN today. As usual, the guitar is better than he described and his ability to pack is second to none. Of course I had to put new strings on it and wipe it down good. Truth is the old strings sounded fine but I changed because I wanted to admire and hold it.
Pictures are still up in "Buy and Sell" section.
Also, had talked to Richard about a DV72 couple years ago. Said he would keep me in mind. He had mentioned he might be selling his later. Told him I would buy the DV72 and D48 so we struck a deal for both. Been a great July! A few cell phone pictures of DV72. Sounds and plays wonderfully. Will be the last Guild to ever leave.

That's a whole lot of Guild goodness all at the same time. Congrats to both of you on the deal!

Wow! And double wow! Major congrats. What an awesome pair of guitars. How can you even stand so much Guild goodness all at once?

Both are amazing guitars and really enjoying their versatility.
Anyone know if pickup on D48 is standard or "add on?" Will try to identify this pickup with mirror and light.

Just playing the D48 and thought I would relay what date I found on the neck block. Neck blocked stamped Dec 12, 1991 and my SN is D480006. Saw on the forum that Dec 12, 1991 was also stamped on SN D480001. And 12 is highest SN I have seen. Wonder if Dec 12, 1991 stamped on #12? Made all the neck blocks same day?

Just took the D48 to my luthier, Chris Bozung, to have electronics checked out. Chris loosened four strings, reached through sound hole, unclipped 9 volt battery, and found one rusted post had "welded" itself to connector post. Soaked a small cloth in white vinegar and held rusted posts two or three minutes. Battery post separated, little Emory cloth to the effected post, plugged in new battery, reinstalled, retuned four strings and "presto" all worked and sounded great.
No charge, said I could buy his lunch sometime.

Neck blocks were stamped when rim was completed, so all rims made on same day, and at least first 6 having same neckblock date would make sense as they built in batches of 6. Wouldn't surprise me if #12 also had same neck block date, would indicate they built all 12 at the same time, or 2 batches of 6. :)

Careful, his lunches might have a price tag on a par with his guitars. :p

Not where we eat. Had lunch together - pre Covid - 30 plus times a year and $18 covered both meals including a $3.50 tip.
Great little buffet restaurant in Fairview, TN.
