We can only hope the super bowl isn't as oh hum as the playoffs were. Yesterday's games were terrible offensively. So, why does the ball carrier run to where all the defenders happen to be?

Have a great day people!

Peace

Interesting to hear that perspective, doc. I thought they were awesome games, not at all ho-hum. But then again, I cared about the outcome.

ANNUAL RANT ALERT

The Super Bowl always seems to be a dud after the conference championships, and I still contend that it's because of the two-week layover.
Too much time to get lazy and lose focus with all the distractions and misc. hype and BS. Let's play football, for cryin' out loud!

I'm also in favor of doing away with the silliness of the hyped-up halftime show altogether. I mean, what adverse effects are added to the playing field by all the c**p they roll out along with the frenzied jumpers surrounding the stage, etc., etc, ad nauseum?
Wardrobe malfunctions? Gimme a break!

Mui dos centavos,
Joe

I'm excited precisely because I think this will be an interesting superbowl. We'll see, I guess.

My rant would be with the pro bowl, Joe. It's not the two weeks of prep time (which should be a good thing), it's the pro bowl that distracts everyone... they oughta' do what MLB does and take a couple weeks off during the season and have the pro bowl. But, those are my dos centavos as well. ;)

Both games very focused on defense. Not as much fun to watch as high scoring offensive games. He who makes the most costly error loses. Pats not known for defense were just good enough. Ravens not known for offense got snake bit.
Pats Giants should have both O and D with Gronk and Cruz.

I have to agree that the defense on both sides was "decent", SF more so than the Giants. I just didn't like the offensive play calling and the fact that a "highly" rated QB like Manning wasn't on target when there was a target (and there were opportunities).

Though he's been pretty impressive in the past, I didn't expect a great deal from Alex Smith under pressure (passing wise). The NYJ defense actually floundered enough that had Smith not continually thrown the ball into the turf, SF would have truly dominated offensively. Plus when it was apparent that he could run the ball against the NYG, the offensive co-ordinator should have keyed in on that. Gypsy was impressed because he looks a bit like Aaron Rodgers.

I really don't care who wins the Super Bowl. I'd simply like to see some good offense plays when the opportunity presents itself.

Peace
