I have a a '63 T-100D that is probably going to need a refret. The issue is with the truss rod completely loose the neck is really straight (maybe) even a backbow. Strung up it seems to have just enough neck relief. I am concerned that with refretting the barbs could drive it even more backbow so I want to avoid this at all costs. Does anyone know typically how much wider the barbs (not tang) should be than the fret slot?

I'd like to get just enough barb to not be loose but not too much where it is forced into a backbow. I'm just not sure what that typically is.....I'll use something like the fret barber or something to make the barbs the right size.

Thanks!
