**Sorry about this post ending up here. It should be in misc. but I'm a bit waterlogged today!

Rain has returned to the Pacific Northwest full force, given that unmistakable sound on the skylights/windows/doors, etc. I have no problem with the weather here and I just might stay home today and spend some time in my studio (bathroom [lots of tile]) with some work I've been putting off (playing every guitar in the house at least once).

So, don't feel sorry for us up here in the Fourth Corner. We'll be OK.

Thanks,
Joe

Same deal in Maryland. Second day of 40 degree temps and rain. Two more to follow. :( :(

Conversation at the airport in Vancouver this morning, laughing at the deluge. And on morning radio,
  • So, Jack, how's the weather out there?"
"It's October on the wet coast, OK"
    " 'Nuff said. Thanks."

I'm still on the bicycle going downtown - astonishing how many fewer riders there are. The fair-weather folks seem to abandon the cycle for some reason.

I just returned from a 1 1/2 hour walk from our place, along the creek to the bay and back--a little rain, a lot of wind, great colors all over the place, and a few good birds to check out!
Salmon are in the creek so it must be October!
It's great to have a pulse! :!:

Now I can settle in for some 6-string action (maybe a bit of 12) while I watch a litlle playoff baseball!

Life is sometimes soooooo sweet,
Joe

Oh great. I'm flying to Portland tomorrow for a convention. Should I bring my waders?

Played My guitars some 3 times today, and it rained here too, though the swimming pool water temp was still at 84 degrees this evening.

Yes, I took a dip this afternoon, because the pool temps will be dropping shortly, and below 80 degrees, fo_get_a_bot it!

I feel your pain, Doc, I really do! Better look into hypothermia prevention. We wouldn't want to lose you!

Test the water, first,
Joe

The house is painted, the firewood is cut and stacked, and the garden is tilled up.....and the rains have started here in the pacific northwest. Now the beauty of living in such a rainy/cloudy place is you can stay indoors and play your guitar all day and not feel guilty that you should be outdoors working on some project.

I have found the rainy seasons here in the northwest and the bitter cold of the upper midwest to be some of the best times to devote to singing and playing as there are not so many distractions in one's life.

Maybe I'll run into you next door in Port Townsend at one of the Centrum events next summer. My wife and I always do the Blues Workshop.

Thats a lovely area, my father actually built a house there back in the 70s, loved to visit the area. Steffan

Boy, I thought it was raining yesterday. Compared to this morning, that was just a drizzle....it's seriously dumping right now. :D
It makes a body appreciate the basic creature comfort/concept of warm and dry that much more.
It's important to gain perspective at times like this because not everyone is so fortunate!

And it continues to be miserable in Maryland. Heavy rain, mid 40's and to add to the fun, the wind is starting to howl. Tomorrow we're expecting near gale force winds. :( :(

Yesterday was a series of thunderstorms. I love to play guitar inside during a rain shower, but those anvil heads threaten my electronic stuff. After rushing around to unplug things, it was fun to be alone with the guitar, the cat, the pitter-pat and the rumbles.
All that you said, minus the cat. Used to have six....now I have none. :|
But I do love the sound of rain on the roof. I grew up in a house with a tin roof and it was a heavenly sound during those south Louisiana downpours! Wow! I can still hear it :!:
