No - it's weird. The sky is pure blue - no clouds - and no contrails. Where I live it's like a freeway in the sky usually as we lie under a main flight path about 90 miles due West of Heathrow - jets at full height so not noisy, but always contrails on a clear day - except the last few days. But no hazyness and no sign of any ash settling :?

Nothing to see here either; tomorrow the airport should be reopened but it might get closed again on Monday evening local time.
Today we had Vienna Marathon and about 1,500 (of about 32,000) starters from abroad couldn't get here …

Not over here, beautiful sunny day, clear blue sky.

Same over here, but some of my friends from Westerly, who are visiting Ireland right now, are stuck because Dublin Airport is closed. Not a bad place to be stuck in though and since the weather is so nice, I'm sure they will have a wonderful time.

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Just getting here by plane was impossible as the ash layer is in about 30,000 feet.
It was a nice spring day with clear blue sky.

I thinned my apple and peach trees today. But the apples down here ain't nuttin' compared to those in Washington state.

My oranges are great this year--mild, not too sweet or tart or sour. Maybe because our soil isn't acidic.

Gardening tip: Kill weeds with muriatic acid--the acid they put in swimming pools. Non-toxic, fast-acting, and cheap. But don't get it on your clothes or skin.

I'm healthy again. I had a bad thyroid and adrenal glands for a while, but it's all over now. As Stephen King said, "I have the heart of a twenty-year-old man, and I keep it in a jar on my desk."

Well - waddya know - they decided after 6 days shutting down flying and total airline chaos, that the ash wasn't such a major problem after all  We have a saying in the UK - they couldn't organize a piss-up in a brewery (for th US bretheren, piss-up = a major drinking session of alcoholic beverages)
