The guy has a feedback rating of "1" though. I don't know, it's like sending a stranger 4k and hoping he'll send you something in return. I realize that eBay is like that but still...

Tail end wood is badly water damaged . It's well over priced imho.
That case is way too clean , bright and coloured for nearly 45 years too.

I agree it could be considered overpriced, and at nearly $200 to ship also. But I don't see any water damage -(?). It seems the case matches the condition of the guitar too.

:) I think what you may be seeing is the natural look (spalting) in the maple. Yeah, if I'm gonna spend that much on an X500 I believe I'd have to check it out in-hand first. But if it's all that and that's what somebody wants then go for it!

I don't think the wood is damaged, either, though I'm glad that one poster brought the possibility of same to the attention of the LTG crewe...

I also agree that the case looks new than '69. It looks like something from the '70's. When did the previous purchaser buy it, '75?
I think the case could be from that time period. What do you guys think? Having written that, I'm sure that there are more knowledgeable folk than me around here.

Cool guitar, though.

I go with the spalting appearance  The case is quite new . My Hoboken case is faded and felt ( not Dacron sort of material ) padded.
There're as many sellers who don't really know original-from-replacement , as there are miss-informers

I'm thinking that case logo could be from the '70's, but the interior does look pretty new. I tried googling 'Guild case 5217', but couldn't come up with much that would help, one way or the other. Again, I think the metal foil 'Guild' logo, could date the case, to the right person.

Wow... that's one handsome guitar!

How heavy is the X500? Heavier than an X700 I'd guess, but does anybody have both?
