Yes ..... mostly talk (possible Guild content on the right)

Haven't heard that one in a long time. Lead singer reminds me of this guy:

I don't know if Steppenwolf is still touring, but I saw them in the early '80s and again in '02 or '03 and they were surprisingly good both times.

Hi Doc; I think the last time the subject got kicked around here somebody said that John Kay's voice had held up pretty well stormy Wiki history of Steppenwolf.

I can verify the years been good to John Kay. Saw him about 5 years ago at an outdoor venue, they rocked! He had a bevy of nice Rickenbackers he kept picking from and on. Came back for an encore, did "Pusher Man", great end to the evening!

The Steppenwolf album was a "must have" after I saw Easy Rider.

Must say, it's still a great period-piece and "Desperation" was always my fave track. Still sounds great !

Hi Neo; it didn't hurt that a couple of their songs were used in the soundtrack of Easy Rider ... sort of guaranteeing them a place in R&R history ... not saying they weren't great to listen to.

And, my introduction to The Band.

Although, their ( original ) version of "The Weight" wasn't on the album soundtrack.

:D I guess that puts me in the -top 20 posts.  I use 2 fingers to type & can't keep up w/ what I want to say w/o retyping too many mispelled words. I would have a few more if Don would have carried over my posts from the old Guild Pages. I don't see how ya'll cats have time to do anything else w/ 1,000's of posts. Where is the spell checker from the old days? I need it.

Hi Jake; the only thing this thread comes close to proving is that post count is meaningless .... but the spellchecker is gone ... people who use Foxfire get spelling help ... Foxfire underlines words it thinks you have misspelled. If you feel the need to bump up your post count, do it ...
