What do you think of the D-TAR Wavelength Lock n' Load electronic system Guild includes on stock guitars?

I have limited personal use experience, only having used a handful of pickups in acoustics, but from listening at our folk society gatherings, I find it has less quack than most systems used there. I wish I could find my old DeArmond soundhole pup from the 60s to give a comparison, but it's yet to show up where I've thought to look.

iJam, I have never used one, so I can't comment or vote. I've had pretty good luck with my K&K Pure Western Mini, which is a triad of transducers that go on the bridge plate inside the guitar. That required no permanent modifications to the guitar except the routing of the endpin jack hole.

If you're interested, you might want to look at the latest development which Guild is phasing into the Traditional Series (and maybe others): http://www.guildguitars.com/CDN/support ... Source.pdf

I just installed a DTAR Multi Source (UST + MIC + PRE) in my JF30-12. It sounds fantastic!
I had a K&K 12 string transducer (3) in the JF30-12 and it sounded like crap. I tried repositioning many times but could not get a decent sound. Go figure. I am using it elsewhere with OK results.
I also had the LR Baggs Active Matrix UST with Built in PRE in the JF30-12 along with the K&K at one point with a TRS jack into my 2 channel pre amp. The DTAR is way better. Far less quack and the mic adds the right amount of Air and nice strumming / picking sounds. I might try another DAR Multisource on my DV52 next. I would be curious to compare it to the Fisman Blender in my D50CE, which is pretty good, although somewhat quacky and the mic has very low gain and a muffled sound. Just by talking into the mic alone, the DTAR is much clearer than the fishman.

Pick ON!

Bobby!
