Can you tell me if the electronics on the original Polara comprise individual tone and volume controls for each pickup, plus a three-way selector switch? Thanks.

Welcome, but I can't answer your question. That was a pretty standard configuration for Guilds through the late 60's and early 70's but whether it applies in your case is something I don't know.

Do you own the Polara in question? If so, pictures? Pretty please?

The early S100 Polaras made in the period of '63 to early '65 had independent volume and tone controls for the two "mini soapbar" pickups and a pickup selector switch. Sometime in '65 the S-100 Polara wiring was altered and included a "setting switch". This was a single slide switch similar to that found on the S-200 Thunderbird. On that model S-100 the pickups have two distinct Master Volume and Master Tone configuration selected by the slide switch. It also had the standard pickup selector switch for Neck, Neck + Bridge and Bridge. The later S100 usually have the white alinico "Mickey Mouse" pickups and often have the inverted Fenderish headstock.
