My "hunched over the guitar like a vulture" playing position is, unfortunately, not shown here.

As long as I have two feet on floor or whatever surface, the guitar finds a "happy place" and depending on which guitar - the happy place may be different.
The most common one would be 2nd row 1st from left.

Tenor TPGS+ Professional Ergonomic Guitar Rest.

works pretty good for me. wish they had them back in my classical days in the 80's. much better than a footstool. I like to use it on my right leg best, not left, like pictured.

Yeah, but what positions are possible with something bigger than what looks like a ukulele? :p

Having taken classical lessons when I was 8, I like a footrest, left foot. Can't stand stools, they throw my back out. I like a really low chair like a kiddigaaden chair, an old maple one named to Simpson that also works good for holding up a small tweed amp Layla style.

GGJ:

I know that image from the cover of this LP (though the LP shows 23 guitarists and your version shows just 20):

R-13513823-1555636487-2139.jpg

The artist is credited on the LP cover, but I always suspected the drawing wasn't done specifically for this album.

Do you know where it comes from?

Thanks!

Isn't "standing up" a playing position? That's what I do 90% of the time, due to shoulder issues...

My 1st thought was that it was going to be a thread about finger positions and fretboard patterns, but I had an undermining thought of the "hunched over the guitar like a vulture" image. Imagine my surprise at being a 100% opposite.☺️

I think I have that LP! I also think the original (or something very like It) was in Guitar Review, '60s-'70s.

The DeLucia position works good.
More comfortable with the guitar on the right leg and the headstock out in front. Less neck twisting to look at the neck that way.

Veer: Paco played Pau Ferro back and sides Conde guitars. Not sure if this is one of them pictured. So rosewood guitars were a thing back in the 60's! I only mention it because Pau Ferro and rosewood guitars seem to be coming into more use on electrics these days.

I'm not going to go on a search or anything (there are plenty of other rabbiit holes that need my attention), but thanks for the tip Brad. (Yes, it's a nice album!)

A green one was on the LP, but again with the 23.

Ralf

As with many Lyrichord LPs, it was issued with a few different color covers. I've seen red, yellow and green.

This is the first time I've seen the Qualiton edition (European label) though, which issued the record under the performers' names, rather than as Guitar of the Pampas. Did Qualiton license it from Lyrchord, or the other way 'round?
