I just purchase a "new" formula HumidiPak system from Planet Waves and installed it in my F512 yesterday. I had been using the travel soap dish with sponge and the Planet Waves sound hole insert and checking the humidity with their sensor. Typically with the A/C running the highest daily humidity in the case was in the high 40's and the lows were in the low 30's. Now with just the HumidiPak system in the high has been almost 70% and the lows in the upper 40's. I'm going to keep an eye on it but if anyone else is trying it out I'd really like to hear what you are seeing.

I haven't tried it. I always live in wet places.

What humidity do you want? I think what you're describing is ok.
70% is high. But 40's are not dangerously low.

The problem with the "old formula" HumidiPaks was not poor humidity control, but chemical staining of case linings.
I'd keep a close watch on the case lining.

Eddie, cjd-player is correct. Is this a newly re-released product from Planet Waves? I thought they'd basically taken these off the market and recalled them. I'd also heard they'd made a second attempt recently but not been satisfied??? Maybe I heard wrong.

In any case, definitely keep an eye on it.

BTW, Eddie, how do you like your Tacoma F-512?

Yes, this is the newest, improved formula. You did hear right about several attempts at a new formula.

I was aware of the previous problem but they seem to have been worked out and yes, I do plan to keep a close eye on things.

Love the 512... it really sings.
