Another Snarker here.

But I also have a free phone app that works well called Guitartuna. Great for situations such as playing guitars at a store or wherever when you aren't carrying a tuner and want a quick easy tune. Ears are great but it's nice to know you are at pitch and it's way easier to see a tuner when there are other things making noise in your immediate area.

I have the same app -- for the same reason. Nice to know I also have a tuner handy. And a camera. In case I see something I want to research more after I tune it and play it.

Funny thing, two areas of my life I always struggled with when I was younger was my ability to tune a guitar and have it sound right the first time (and my first guitar was a 12-String... yikes!), and getting terribly lost whenever I was driving. I have apps for both of those now. What a world!

I've mentioned this before, but when I got my first guitar about age 15, I didn't have a clue how to tune it. So I called up my cousin on the telephone; he had recently started playing guitar, and he picked the notes into the phone so I could tune my guitar accordingly. That was the beginning of my trek to international rock stardom. Still trekking...

I use my trusty, old Intellitouch tuner by OnBoard Research Corp. Had it 10 or 11 years now but it does the trick.
