Thanks for all those who helped identify what model my Pilot was. I forgot to mention that it has a Kahler Tremolo. The arm is missing so i'll be looking out for a period replacement.

Were many made with Tremolos?

Well you listed that it had a Kahler bridge so I assumed it was tremolo.

Since the tremolos were not noted in the serial numbers the only way to know how many Pilots were produced with them would be if it was noted in the company production ledgers. (Assuming they were still keeping ledgers by then.)

If the ledgers did exist and Hans has a copy, we might get lucky and he might mention it in the Pilot Bass section of Volume II.

(Hans Moust wrote "The Guild Guitar Book" but Volume I only goes to 1977.)

Re: LTG shirts

Fish On !!!

Dave,

Congrats on the new Bass.

I bought a Sprint a while back, & like yours, it arrived with no trem arm. I called & looked around locally but couldn't find a replacement with the same thread pattern. So...I made one, actually I made three, experimenting till I got the geometry right.

Don't know if the thread size on yours is the same as mine, or if you can easily locate a replacement, but you're welcome to one of my prototypes.
