Tristan says it just won't go out of tune and the tone is.............priceless... :D :D ...she's been fixed up nicely, braces fixed, crack repaired, new tuners, and nut....set up, new strings with Treems' finger prints on them....and shipped in a basically new F512 case (my old one is scraped up pretty badly and all there are only 2 hinges that work, and the handle is broken, from airline wear and tear) which I also had him get for me.. ..what a guy... He has it padded with T shirts to secure it, and being "The Enabler" I'm sure it will be done right...anyway...today will be my NGD, and of course....I will be posting a picture or 3. Steffan

If you go to this thread you will see the pics Treem took, and they are of what I got....also a little history of who Pete was, and why the guitar is 'Pete' along with the only vid of Pete playing, and a Guild at that....all I can say about the sound is.......delicious.....and that Braz fragrance comes with it too....WOW! love it....Steffan

That's what I thought I read. I'm feeling a wee bit of anxiety, because Pete (the Brazillian 67/8 F312) arrived yesterday, UPS....but I wasn't home so they left a notice.....So here I am up at 4:30 ....checked the old e-mail and read the above, and almost clicked on it....but...actually it was spam that read...your ex is waiting for you.... Yikes......! even if that were true, I'd leave town...for NZ maybe.......whew....well maybe I can sleep for a couple of hours, then go for an A&W breakfast and pick up Pete at the depot next door...Tristan says it just won't go out of tune and the tone is.............priceless... Yes... why, yes it is!

I promise to post a few pics (a) once it has arrived and (b) once I've checked it out and have decided to keep it.

But...if you'd been divorced 3 times would that make the third one your triple-ex?

I just thought: " A '69 Starfire IV 'burst " ? The only one outstanding burst I remembered for sale recently was the one from MojoTooth!
Congratulations!

Pete's guitar shop....that's where this unfinished guitar started its journey to me. After Pete died in an accident his son was left to clean up the situation, and fortunately I was watching ebay when this was advertised..I liked what I saw as a possibly lovely guitar after a bit of fixing up...but didn't know its history...so I bought it, and Treem picked it up for me, and went to great lengths, we both did actually, to find the right tuners, etc, and then we found out it still needed some important work done... the top had been damaged and has some repaired cracks, and part of the top has been replaced a couple of spots in the binding has been repaired etc....I wanted it to arrive ready to play, and that is what I got...plus......now that I have it, and its been almost a year long process....I can really appreciate what a stellar wonderful full and rich presence this guitar has even at the softest strum....I feel so honored to have it...Pete's son phoned me about its history after I bought it....I had asked him if I could have a week or so to pay him, he liked that I would appreciate it and we developed at least a mutual respect bridging on friendship...He led me to the you tube of his father, and I then started the bonding with the history and the man....His son said 'I'm glad you're getting it'....that's pretty special to me...and I honestly feel a presence about it, a certain kind of reverence, hard to explain....I'll put a pickguard on it and may work it into more of a gloss, but there will always remain a bit of a partnership with Pete the man, myself, and as I said to his son, "I've never named a guitar, but this one in going to be called Pete".. I think we were both moved, and that is a bit of the history of what went on....now...Pete has a lot to teach me, so we're going to spend a little time together....I thought this was worth sharing.....Steffan
