20220724_214248.jpgIf you refer to my previous thread, I asked about the production of this model, and what the serial number meant, by the way the serial number is 000009, which I figured meant it was the 9th one made, however I took off the truss rod, which hadn't been taken out before, and to my absolute shock there was a big giant 7. This would suggest that it was the seventh built, and there were some guys in the last thread that were interested if I ever had any more questions or discoveries, so here I am. Let me know your thoughts please.

Previous thread: https://letstalkguild.com/ltg/index.php?threads/i-need-x-180-park-avenue-info.209484/

Guilds were known to have been made in batches, and not in a strictly serial fashion. That could have been the 7th neck in the batch attached to the 14th body. It could be the neck guy's lucky number. It could have been "Inspected by #7". @hansmoust might know but I don't know that the rest of us do (I've been wrong before, though).

My unsolicited advice is to abandon needing to know if it was the 7th or 9th or 912th one made. It doesn't matter and you'll likely never really know.

Often the neck fitters put their initials in the TRC cavity. One example seen in many guitars from that time is "JT" (he was neck fitter in Westerly from 1986 till 2001).

I asked Han, and he said it was simply a way of matching necks to bodies and has nothing to do with when it was made in the batch, or which batch it was.

I needed to adjust the truss rod on my '92 Starfire 4 for the first time ever today. I found JT's initials in the TR cavity. :)
