PA and recorder question

I feel a bit like a newbie here, but it's been years since I did any live recording, or much recording at all for that matter. I'm looking at a Mackie powered mixer that has two RCA jacks marked "Tape Out." I know I could connect them to a cassette deck for recording if needed, but I'm curious if these outputs are compatible with a line in on a digital recorder, thinking specifically of a Tascam DP-004.

I had a Mackie Powered mixer (a version prior to the current models) for several years, and occasionally used it in conjunction with a Tascam PortaStudio (two versions prior to the current models) in the very way you wish to. It worked just fine. In fact, that is precisely what the "Tape Out" is designed for.

Mackie builds a very, very nice all-in-one solution.

The old porta-studio I used in a previous school had RCA inputs (it was also a cassette version), did yours, or did you have to adapt to 1/4"?

My PortaStudio had 1/4" inputs, so I had to use one of these (RCA to 1/4" Phone Plug):

The signal was very clean.
