Guitars string packs were so much cooler back in time.

Anyone else collected cool ones over the years?

so Martin has "reissued" their original 80/20 string, the M140. They of course now call it "Originals". I am sure you have seen them.
They are like 5.49 a pack, not bad. I played them all the time as a kid, that was like the only acoustic string the shop had, the .12-.54s.
till I found a different guitar shop years later, they had the D'Adarrio EJ16s, they were all the rage...

remember? of course, they are not made in Pa anymore...

Yes, those are all my string packs. The Earthwoods came with the F112, GHS Medium in brown package with the F30, Gibson Mediums with '72 Dobro, other string packs with other guitars.

I am definitely a collector of strings. I sometimes wonder how many strings I have, tensioned, in one room, plus the ones in the drawers, must be in the hundreds.

I'll have to check those Martins out.

Just put on two sets of Martin Monels yesterday, on thinline acoustic electric, they sound great, big.

your collection is excellent.
I got the M140s on all my acoustics right now. was not planned, just kind of happened that way.
i dont even remember how it all happened. I think I sleep-string. all this crazy must be happening at night, as i am still capable of holding down a day job...

so how you all like the Earthwoods? they are super affordable and I am entering a phase of my life which will require cheap strings...alas.

I'm not a collector, however, someone who has seen my drawers might think otherwise. I must have over a hundred sets.

Oddly enough when I bought my Guild D-35 there was a balled up package of some Gibson strings that looked to be from the early 80’s had the Norlin era logo and didn’t have a website posted on the package so I figured it was ancient.

I have enough stuff without "collecting" anything. This looks like "clutter" to me, but if you have room for them and it makes you happy, then who am I?? I need to restring 4 guitars right now. I'm so lazy......

LOL! One man's "clutter" is another man's "collection"!

There was a thread here some years ago where a member asked to send him the paper sleeves because he decorated the walls of his music room with them. Don't really have an idea how to search for it however...
