I bought this in 1973 - manufactured in 1972. The young guy playing it was manufactured in 1984.
I had the neck re-set (on the guitar) in 2003. She was cherry red until Hurricane Katrina.
I brought her to Vietnam to be restored in 2006. I awarded her a G-shield for glory
for surviving Katrina. (Sue me FMIC - I thought she deserved it.)

Gave her to my son for his birthday 2006. I wish he'd spend his time more productively.

Nope.

I wanted the cherry finish restored. They couldn't do it.
I told them give it a burst color.

Interestingly - it was easier for them to do the fancy G-shield
inlay than it was for them to do the normal lettering.

Click the 1972 D-25 link in my sig if you want to see what it looked
like before it was re-done.

Hey Marc, looks like the apple doesn't fall far from the tree :D

Congrats on keeping it in the family, now it's truly an heirloom guitar!
