I notice some online pics show the neck pup slammed against the neck base, some have about a 3mm gap.
Also some have bound fboards, some don't, regardless of color, it seems.
I guess the specs change sometimes. Odd. Or maybe all the necks are being made now bound like for the Pbass pickup style Starfire I now.

I also find it strange that the "Bisonic I" has disappeared with no fanfare and the new "Pbass style pickup I" is the only "I" model now available.

Looking at the three on the Guild website...

I could be talked into agreeing that the green one has a gap between the PU and the neck and the maple and natural don't.

I don't see any bound fingerboards at all but I recall the last time bound boards were discussed I was looking for the wrong thing and it is quite possible I didn't learn the lesson of what to look for.

My recollection is that the green SF II came out very early so the green could be the FMIC design and specs which were subsequently revised by CMG.

I remember the one with the gap as being green. So maybe FMIC. Without the gap looks better. Some '70's and '90's SFII have the gap (sweet spot neck?, but I jest).

thornev has a bound Natural II in his thread on his electronics and Bisonic conversion. This natural (attached) is not. Maybe it is an FMIC and CMG change thing, like you say. Either way they all look great.

There's an NS SFS2 on Reverb that has a bound fretboard. The ones pictured at the Sweetwater site don't.

Odd...
