I want to thank fellow ltg'er txbumper57 for fullfilling a dream. It was the fall of 2013 and the last Let's Meet Guild. During the factory tour there were partially assembled resonators. I was struck. When the closure was announced I had a choice, either a round neck resonator or a Doyle Dykes 12 string. I chose the Doyle and have wanted a R-30 since. Today the R-30S arrived after several weeks trapped in the USPS system.

Here's a link txbumper57 posted the guitar back in 2015 on LTG. It still looks that amazing.

NICE!

I can barely play a resonator and I have three of the damn things: all Guilds, and each one cooler than the next.

The R30s are fun since you can play them like a regular guitar and your’s is extra cool because it’s all solid (my R30 is laminate).

Awesome score!

Congrats my friend. Hate not being able to play much anymore so it really warms my heart to see some of my babies going to loving homes. I hope it brings you joy for years to come.Hopefully I can find some good homes for the rest of them too.

That is gorgeous! I love the throw-back Guild logo on the headstock!

Congrats Asister. Sounds like it’s going to be a lot of fun. I would have a clue what to do with one but love hearing them play.

I know I am biased but she's gorgeous 😍
Sure is. Today she really opened up. I had been just fingerpicking so I decided which pick brought out that twangy sound I was looking for. After going through several styles, thicknesses, and materials one stood out. Several years ago I purchased a couple of capos from Thalia and they included some of their rosewood picks. Never really tried them but wow! The .9mm 351 shape was a step above the rest.

At the second LMG factory tour they showed us these guitars being constructe. I was VERY impressed at the high quality of the materials and the workmanship.

If you've ever opened up a National resonator and seen how cheap the materials are and how slapdash the conctruction, the Guilds will blow you away.

Is there an emoji for drooling over a Guild resonator anywhere on the web? I can't seem to find one. It looks like a wonderful guitar and I'm sure it will sound special. While searching for drooling emojis, I did find this discussion, which has some great comments...

Do yourself a favor and get a slide if you don’t have one. A slide and open G is all kinds of fun.

I'll add that they were very excited in the New Hartford shop to show us (and introduce us) the resonators when they were building them. I neveer played one, but as Glenn said they were built beautifullly.

It sounded to me like they'd taken a clean slate with these, even though they didn't make a ton of them... Congrats again, James!
