I'm in a similar position. Just spent 10 days in the hospital, went in due to sever shortness of breath. Drained over a liter of fluid from the lining of my heart, and, like with dread, did Lasix drip and now 80 mil twice a day by mouth. Shortness of breath pretty much gone, but now I need to have a colectomy, malignant polyp may have been the cause of the fluid build up. Fortunately, I can move around now without stopping for breath every 10-15 feet!
