Somehow these things get under my skin and drive me nuts, but I've been on a tone quest lately. An interesting old amp turned up and found it's way to my music room 8) (thanks to fixit and bluesypicky).

Without further ado:

That's some vintage sounding sweetness right there!....
I couldn't believe the bass punch among other things.
I wanted to push that thing, but those guys wouldn't stop talking!
Enjoy Dave!

Congrats! Great amp. All straight? What speaker/tubes are you running?

Thanks!

Jeff, right now it has a Jensen "Special Design" replacement. I also received the original speaker (reconed). It appears to have a little crease in the cone, and may be weak. But I plan to try it. It's been retubed (naturally, after 46 years) with Sovteks. Will perhaps put in some better tubes, but it sounds pretty awesome as it is.

The power transformer was replaced in the past. Missing a back top panel and foot switch. Not a museum piece for sure, but a real tone machine.

Here's the backside view...

Cool things start to happen at about 6 on the volume knob. I won't have a chance to stretch it's legs for a couple of days, though.

Thanks for helping to check it out. I didn't feel comfortable evaluating something like this by myself.

Nice! Looks like Dec. '65 (if I correctly read the date code as OL). Looks like the aux. ac outlet was replaced (it looks like a 3 prong, if I'm not mistaken)- those get wonky anyway. I had one light up on me in a BF Bassman and haven't tried using one since! Have fun with it!

Yep, "OL". Also with "Colombia" instead of "Columbia". (Good move, Fender - misspell the name of the new owner!)
