That's right - New Lumberjack Day!
I'm the first to admit that it takes my projects a while to get off the ground. Well, that and to be honest, all the concerns expressed by my friends here when I said I wanted a chainsaw made me pretty hesitant about operating something so dangerous without at least getting some instruction first. But I never got any chainsaw instruction other than the owner's manual and some YouTube videos.
What I did do was get Skittles (my chainsaw) a little sister, Spree. A handheld 6" chainsaw which served as my training wheels, for about a day. Spree and I took down some brush yesterday, even felled a chinaberry tree this morning. Then she quit running, with a tree on the ground which was in the way. I considered dismembering the tree with my handsaw, but - No! I have a chainsaw. Use it!
So Skittles and I bucked the tree and then cut down some smaller stuff.
What I learned is ...
Chainsawing is fun!!
And from here out, anything that I don't want growing is going down!
