One more before I give up here as the day heads towards its close.
Blackie and the Rodeo Kings (one of the world's most underappreciated groups to my mind) do a lovely Willie P. Bennett (a singer-song writer even more underappreciated) song, Faces.
The album the song from is BRK's debut album, High or Hurtin'. which is a tribute collection of Bennett's tunes. The group name is taken from the title of one of Bennett's songs, Blackie and the Rodeo King. The project I think, was to have been a one-off, but they liked each other and continued on intermittently over the years.
Stephen Fearing on vocals. Willie, himself, plays harmonica somewhere in the background.
