Very nice, and since he seem to deliver the original bridge, also all parts are original.

Does anyone think that there could be some divots in the fretboard?
It seems there may be some on the pics of the fretboard which are all pretty high up the neck. The fact that there are no pics of the lower frets worries me as this is where the divots would be larger.
I could be completely wrong about this as I am a bit paranoid after recently receiving a guitar with divots in the fretboard (not mentioned in the description or shown clearly in pics of course).

Anyone else think a refret has been done (not a bad thing at all)?

Different Guildsby to the one in the Green '66 SFV thread: viewforum.php?f=3

Was one of these the standard or did they put both types on them?

Looks pretty nice though.

Hi Zelja,
I guess that is a general issue with the Rosewood fingerboards, they are softer than ebony, and divots on a 1966 model would be quite normal I think (if it was played since 1966). However the pictures show no indication at all. Same for refret. Only the seller could tell you.

Regarding the Guildsby. It has to do with the neckjoint! When the model changed from a neck joint at the 16th fret to a neck joint at the 18th fret during 1966, the position of the pickups and bridge moved towards the neck, hence the Guildsby changed from the B-2 to the two bar B-9 version in order to get to more break angle.
Guildsby B-2 (Bigsby B-6):

Guildsby B-9 (Bigsby B-7):

I was just looking at that one myself...very nice indeed! I'm sure the seller would send you pic's of the upper frets if requested, but regarding the lower frets I looked at the pictures greatly enlarged and they look very clean to me. Somebody buy this bad boy!

I have sent some questions to the seller, seems I'm in a buying mood today...

Thanks for the info Ralf. Re the bigsbies:
This is supposedly a 66, neck join at the 16th fret, but it has a B9:

This SFVI is also supposed to be a a 66 & neck join seems to be at the 16th fret & it has a B9 or similar: http://www.ebay.com/itm/1966-Guild-Star ... 713wt_1163
This is supposed to be a 65 but it's obviously later as the neck joins at the 18th fret: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Guild-S ... 500wt_1413

What threw me initially was the position of the bridge which seems similar to the other guitars but the bridge seems way too far back - notice the gap between it & the pickup?

Yeah, like I said, I could be paranoid about the divots on the fretboard.

I remember Hans said that in a previous discussion, that the change of the B2 to B9 was supposed to happen with the neck change, but in reality there were models with different Guildsby and the change happened not syncron with the neck change. That could be a reason. Or it was later on changed by whatever reason. Maybe somebody liked the higher preasure of the two bar version better.

Clearly not a 1965 one, as also the serial number is EN 124x, which makes it a 1967. But it is a very nice one! I like the red, and the binding can be repaired according to the method that Frank Ford shows on his webpage.

Well, it's a floating bridge, so if somebody does not know how to set proper intonation, that is what it ends up with...

Somebody did! :D
Congratulations Zelja! She certainly looks sweet! What a great sun burst! So is she going from Hawaii directly down under or via New York?
Now you need to update your WTB list in the footer :)

Thanks John, Ralf & Bruno. :D

Yeah, the guitar will be going to New Jersey to my brothers place & I may get it in February when he's planning to come down here. A little crazy as Hawaii is probably half way between NJ & Sydney but lots of sellers don't want to ship overseas & then if they do it's $400 or more so it was simpler just to do this. Besides I have bought so many Guilds in the last 17 months since discovering LTG that I have no room for it here anymore & am now looking to move into a bigger house! The fact that I'm working more & more from home & also need an office also has something to do with that, but really it's mostly the guitars!!

I had to jump on this as the seller says it's a 1 11/16" (43mm) neck which is what I really prefer & it seems in pretty good condition, especially for the price. I have seen a few SFVs for sale & this one seems to have the best condition to price ratio. The seller seems pretty cool & trustworthy so hoping for the best. He did say there was some impressions in the fretboard but they seem very minor so, hopefully, all good.

Yes, I will need to update the sig (& not just because of the SFV), though knowing me I'll convince myself that I also "need" a '67 or later with the neck joining at the 18th & the different Guildsby.

Thanks also to Steve for bringing this to my attention.

Nice job, Zelja! That's a long time to wait for your new toy, but as I am from NJ and get back there once in a while perhaps I should be holding onto it for you until February

Thanks again guys. Will be "delaying gratification" on this one for a while but it should be worth it.
