So I bought an '88 D25 'burst from LTG member Bonneville and it arrived today. It is really in beautiful shape, almost like new! I wish I could keep it, but I bought it for my friend who just sold his F65CE.

Man that’s a beauty.. I mean wouldn’t it be easier to just take your friend out,!?? JK, looks like you friend is getting a great old D25 in great condish.
I've had great luck procuring nice old Guilds, both here on LTG and elsewhere. Best buys in the vintage acoustic world in my way of thinking.

Could not agree more. When people tell me they are looking for a good vintage American axe for a reasonable my answer is always the same. Find a nice D15,D25, D30, D35, D40 from Westerly between 70’s and 90’s and look no more.
my ‘78 D-35 was purchased from an old boy in East TX whose shoulder couldn’t handle the dread size. Neck was already reset. $550. Granted that’s a rare deal. She sings in a clear balanced voice at just the perfect volume. And even when the strings are dead is still has amazing warmth.
