This models fits some of my favorite ideas.
1- Another pointy guitar (goes with my X-80)
2- Ebony fretboard.
3- Three singles coils pickups (strat like) in 24 3/4 scale length. No Khaler on this Guild…yay!

Plays fine, just was a gigging man’s axe and lots of wear/tear on the finish. Candy Apple red never held up anyway.

Thinking a metallic white refinish. Or go full Monty with creating a “white sparkle” to go with the black sparkle X-80.

New pickups and cutting a new pick guard will be done too. Will try to reuse all the other original parts. Will have new Guild logo done in black.

Open to ideas. I know this customization will never get a full return if I ever let it go, but that is really not in the plan.

Hey I just saw this on FB! :)

they’re cool guitars but almost every one I’be ever seen had a terribly worn finish. Do it up the way you want!

I understand those mini toggles could be a pain during a live setting, but I love the phase option!

The “i” in Guild stands for inconsistency. :)

Interesting that the serial # makes it an ‘84. If it was early on, and they moved the button to the tip (that makes sense). But this button placement sucks…if you are just sitting and playing, this button digs into your chest…grrrr

Nothing wrong with girly guitars.

It depends on what you like. I have a Shell Pink Strat some might call girlie, but all that sparkle X-79 needs is a can of hair spray, lame' pants, a ripped t-shirt and too many tattoos.

Truth is, I always secretly wanted an X-79 in black sparkle. I have mentioned this several times to the kind folks at Cordoba. There's one for sale on Ebay in Japan, and with shipping, it's over $2K. No thanks.
