Last week I received a new SF IV in Emerald Green. Fit and finish on this guitar is superb. The neck is really smooth and is the perfect size. The color is striking. The sound is great - sort of sits in between my Gretsches with filtertrons and my D'Angelico EX-SS with HBs. I was somewhat worried with how Guild describes the frets (narrow jumbo), as I don't like jumbos. The frets are, in fact, narrow; but I don't find them to be too high.

I was also concerned with the reported volume discrepancy between the neck and bridge. I don't perceive any discrepancy. I don't know if it is because of how I set the pickup heights or because Guild fixed this issue.

I bought the guitar from Chicago Music Exchange. The guitar was set up great, almost exactly like I set up my other guitars. I just had to do some minor tweaking. Shipping was fast. Guitar was well packed. Communication was first rate. I wouldn't hesitate buying from them again.

I am really enjoying playing this guitar.

Hey Don...You got the green one, and I got the red one. I love mine. Seems like you like yours too. You have to come to one of my gigs and we'll jam Starfires sometime.

Is the green opaque or can you see the grain in the wood underneath?

Thanks all for your comments. Bob, I'd like to come see your band play. Let me know the dates and times of some of your upcoming gigs. Dbirchettt, the wood grain is visible. It might be easier to see in brighter light.
