Her she is. Brand new so the strings are still settling but initial observations/thoughts….. sounds sweet, great sustain, comfortable and it is a looker. It will need a setup, unlike my D260 the strings are a bit high. The 260 was bought pre-owned so it may have been tweaked. Kind of normal SOP for a new guitar. Bottom line, I think I’ll keep it  The premium Gig Bag is really nice too! A couple of poorly done and composed photo’s, then back to stretching the strings!

Beautiful guitar, congratultions. By the way, I have a 1970 D40 and the very best strings for my Guild come from John Pearce Strings. You will never find a better tone for your Guild.

Just strummed the guitar a little yesterday and then I hung it up in the guitar room to get some humidity and settle a bit. Played for an hour this morning. Very impressed. Some say it’s bright…. Not this one. Brings a deep voice, lovely over tones and a full sound. Was happy yesterday, happier today. Also read in reviews that a few people said it’s heavy…. It feels very light to me….

I think Guilds have the best balance between highs and lows making a very overall balanced tone. I have watched to videos comparing several guitars with blindfolds on. The Guild outshines all competitors in these blind tests. The great thing about blind tests is that it takes the emotiions out of the equation. Funny that the tester thought what turned out to be "brittle sound" was a Taylor.

I grew up on a ‘61 Gibson J-45.

Traded it off (like an idiot, for a trombone for one of the kids) decades ago.

The only thing I ever heard that sounded like that cannon of a J-45, was a D-40 about 15 years ago that had an Adirondack Spruce top.

Hey, Taylor makes some amazing guitars. But your new Guild seems to be a home run!!! Wow, what a burst and it's just so pretty. Maybe a better photo of the back wood, and the sides? I'm sure they're amazing but... we're kind nosy about that stuff!! Congrats, man!! (y)

Honestly, the back and sides are very dark and show little grain. Very similar to a J45. I like it with the top but it is dark…. It’s Mahogany (see it on the inside) but has been stained I assume to look like it does.

Here is the pic from the Dealer of the other one they still have. It’s DARK…..

How do you like your Breedlove? I live in Central Oregon and know some of the guys at Breedlove. Nice guitars, but I haven't found one with the tone of a great Guild.

My Breedlove is amazing!! Built in Bend, OR and a limited run of 50. And even better, IT'S BLUE!! A truly versatile guitar with Sitka over Myrtlewood. I played it for a bit last night and I'm always blown away when I pick it up. Here you go....

A truly amazing guitar!!
