Good on you, treem. There's nothing quite like the mini-humbuckers in a 60's Starfire.

Perhaps you should post a photo of the Blackfire so that people unfamiliar with your 1974 HB-1 equipped beauty can see it for themselves. Maybe a photo of the Starfireans together, perhaps? Don't make me have to Photoshop something :)

You know Tristan, I'm beginning to think you're a sucker for a nice burst.... It may be worse than I thought, how are you going to improve on that beauty?...sooooo nice.... congrats, and what company to keep on New Years Eve....and by the way...Happy New Year, as we look back on 2011 ...obviously....THE YEAR OF THE ENABLER   Steffan

Trust me - that 66 is is even cleaner than the photos suggest. I'm so glad I could pass it on to a member of this community. It's not something you want to just send out into the world alone and on its own! Getting it into the hands of a true obsessive is the perfect outcome for both Treem and the guitar. ;-)

I had that M-75 at practice for the first time tonight, playing classic and hard rock tunes. It is a-frickin-mazing. A realization-of-the-dream guitar for me. It fits my rig, my personality, and what I need it to do perfectly. I don't want to jump to far ahead of myself, given that it's a new relationship and all, but I think it may just blow my 97 BB off the main stage. Yeah, it's the pickups! May have to sell the 97 and buy a second M-75 as a back up!

Okay - I'll let this thread veer its way back to the semi-hollows now. Treem - looking forward to some sound clips sometime soon!

That is a very clean SFV! Beautiful guitar you have there. I'd like to find one of these Starfires to try out sometime. Nice when deals or trade work out like this. Hope both of you enjoy your guitars

I asked Treem to shoot some outside photos of his '66 Starfire V like dapmdave did with his '69 Starfire IV a few weeks ago, and the results, I think, are stunning. Does Guild know how to do sunburst or what?

Wow!!! Did I miss something?...
I knew you wouldn't settle for a 66 SF-IV (and glad you didn't  ) so you had to go for the V hmm?
Awesome transaction, congrats to both.
TF: I'll have to send you a pic of mine so you can work your magic on the 60's SF burst trilogy....

Hi Treem!

Congrats on that magnificent Starfire!

So what do you think of the difference in sound between the two?
