With the X3000 deal having fallen through I jumped at the chance to nab @txbumper57’s sweet Starfire that I’ve lusted after pretty much since the day he got it.

I’m still wrapping my head around the controls but I think it’s got some roar in there along with some other interesting possibilities.

Congrats GAD!
I assume that is a Custom Shop model and thin like the '60's SF4's. Technically a SF5 would have block fret markers and a deeper body.
The little mini toggle is a 3-position switch. In the "Up" position (i.e., pulled towards the bass boute) the 3-way neck, neck+bridge, bridge is activated. With the little toggle in the middle position the middle pickup is added to the N, N+B, B combination. In the "Down" position only the middle pickup is activated. The knob controls are Volume for each pickup and Master Treble control.
Very cool guitar with good tone selection and variety.
PS...The middle pickup is counter wound so you can get the airy single coil tone when blended with neck or bridge.

That’s wild! Can’t wait until you do a review and maybe record some tracks.

Yeah that’s cool.
I really like the idea of the wiring.

Nice, congrats! I like that Schaller roller bridge. Do you know if the P-90s are Duncan Antiquities?

Based on sound alone I’d say the could be but I don’t know for sure.

Nice! I've been looking for a Starfire with P90's for a while now ever since I read your ramblings on them and just don't see them ever come up for sale. Love that dark cherry stain and how it really lets the grain come through. Interested to hear your thoughts on it...

Congrats GAD! I know she is in excellent hands and will be well cared for. Not being able to play anymore really stinks and it's weird seeing my babies out in the world. Lol. Hopefully I can find good homes for the rest of my collection as well. I know you will enjoy this one for a long time to come. Couldn't have found a better home.

That sure is pretty to look at, congratulations and HNGD!

I only recently started delving into P90's with an SG jr. It only has one, so I can just imagine what 3 would be like, especially with those configuration options, wphew, bet its a blast while you figure out all the subleties. Enjoy.
