With the enabling help of Ravon this beauty has made a new home Down Under... Guild population of Australia +1

I have to wait a frustrating week or so for my 40th birthday before Mrs Laverda will let me take full possession of it but I reckon I can sneak some playtime when she's not looking 8)

This shot was taken by Ravon before packing it up and sending it. I'll take some more pics once its officially official to show off all her goodness.

For those with a keen eye, they are different knobs but the original ones were included in the case and there's an extra washer under the toggle switch... but she is beautiful and even Mrs Laverda is smitten!

Congratulations Mick! Looks nice! And yes, I would put the original knobs on, (and maybe the disk on the switch off), after all a Bluesbird is not a Gibson.

Congratulations Mick, she does looks a beauty. Australia needs more Guilds & I'm glad you're doing your part. :D Good that the missus approves & best wishes for the upcoming birthday.

I'm with Ralf, I'd probably return it to full Guildness if you could. What pickups do these come with - SDs I assume?

The one I have from year 2000 has Seymour Duncan Classic Cover series '59 model SH-1N & SH-1B with chrome covers in both neck and bridge. Both have a sticker at the bottom showing SH-1N and SH-1B. http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/e ... el_sh1_an/
Not sure what they used some years earlier. "hideglue" had mentioned that he remembers that a JB might have been used at the bridge: http://www.seymourduncan.com/products/e ... _jb_model/
By the way, is this really a 1995 and not 1997 or later? The serial number list shows no 1995 and '96 at least.

Hello laverda,

Don't know how you came up with the 1995 date but when I look at the photo I think the guitar is a bit younger than that.
That's should be at least 1997. If you give me the ser. # I should be able to tell you exactly when it was built.

Either way, nice guitar!

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hi Hans, you are correct... The seller had it listed as 95/96 but once I got the serial number (cl000290) it checked out as 97 in my excitement of actually receiving the guitar I forgot
Let me know if that's correct.
Cheers,
Mick

Hello Mick,

That would make it a Bluesbird from 1997 but maybe you should have a closer look!
Ser. # CL000290 would be a little low for the guitar to look like that.
Could it be #CL001290 ............. or maybe even #CL002290?

Sincerely,

Hans Moust

Hi Hans,
Just had another look and it is definitely cl000290 as per the pic.

How is it different? I know the knobs and the selector switch washer are not original and there is a silver toggle switch tip with the original knobs in the case. Always happy for your input :D
Cheers,
Mick

How is it different?

Hey Mick,

Got it! It's # CL000920 ........ not # CL000290.

That makes sense! It's still 1997 but with the higher serial number, the specs make sense now!

I was afraid I wrote your address in the wrong areas on the shipping label but 'alls well that ends well' :) . Happy Birthday again Mick! (Just wish my tobacco plants in the background had turned golden like they are now when I took the pic)

I joked with Hans a while back about getting hold of the 'toilet seat burst' '57 M75 Aristocrat that was getting around on ebay and making it into a Goldtop, he said that he had already seen one!
