Purchased last week from LTGer @M-30. I've been playing it non-stop, and I am really enjoying it! I've had two Casinos before, a 2003 Asian made, and a 1966 single pickup Casino. This one was made in the Korean Peerless factory, which has a very good repuation for quality.

Excellent condition, excellent "fit and finish". It's been upgraded with Kent Armstrong P90's and Gotoh tuners. I've been playing it to make sure I can handle the thinner neck on these, and I seem to be adjusting fine. It makes my Guild F-30RCE neck seem like a tree trunk!

Here's a few pics from what was in the LTG ad, plus another to show that even the case is a quality case. And yes, I'm a Beatles fan, but I have always taken the pickguard off of any archtop I've owned, including Guilds - it's not just a "Lennon thing".

Got my go-to D'Addario XL110W strings on there, and it sounds great!

Lastly, I highly recommend @M-30 as a seller - a pleasure to deal with!

Nice, congrats Walrus. I’ve read a lot of good user reviews on those Peerless Casinos. Never tried one though. Have fun!

Super nice, high quality and easy to play guitars those Korean Epiphones are. I have a 96 Epi Sorento. Only difference between that and the Casino is the Sorento is a cutaway.

I took the pickguard off years ago.

They are great guitars for sure.Sorrentos are lovely.I like the reissues with P90s better than the originals with mini humbuckers.

Those are the gigging guitar for a lot of traditional blues guys in SoCAL. They are great guitars. Congratulations!

Nice Casino, walrus! Like others have mentioned, I noticed that that era of Epiphones are really great quality.

I've always wanted one of those mid-90s Sorrentos. So cool! When the time came, however, I went for a T-100D. Sorrentos are still one of the most under-rated, best buy guitars out there.

My all-time favorite guitar was a Kalamazoo-made Epi Riviera that was probably made in about 1965 or 1966. Unfortunately, I foolishly sold it off during the early 1980s. I have an ES-335 that I swapped Harmonic Design Z-90s ('Bucker-sized P-90s) into. My favorite basses are all Guild Starfires.

I think I just may have a "thing" for that body shape...

The Peerless Casinos (and other Peerless-made Epis) had great build quality at their price points, and were typically the best offerings out of the four Korean factories used by Gibson to manufacture Epiphones. I purchased one new in 2004, and it was a very nice player. I finally let it go after buying a Terada-Japan made Elitist Casino in 2009 that worked a little better for me. But double-cut P90 mania took over, so three Gibsons were to follow: an ES-330L in 2010, then a ES-335 w/P90s in 2011, and finally the one that fully cured my fever, an ES-330 VOS in 2012. All were purchased new & remain with me. Watch out Walrus, it's a very slippery slope!

Nice one! Major congrats! I still have a couple Epiphone electrics... I might have to break one out in celebration of your NGD....

I removed the pickguard, too, put it in the drawer of a rickety old side table with all the other pickguards, then later put the table on the curb with a "free" sign when we were moving.... forgot the pickguards were in there. Table was gone the next day. Oh well.... 🙄
